Picture frames are easy to get, and they don’t have to be expensive ones either. You can get good looking frames at the art or craft store that need to finish. My favorite way to find frames though is to go to yard sales and flea markets and buy used ones – these often have the most artistic appeal and are the cheapest to buy!
You can put wallpaper samples in them for a fascinating artistic look. You can just put some blobs of paint on canvas or paper for art moderne style. I’ve even seen people put things like placemats or vintage wrapping paper in them – anything that goes with your decor and style is fair game.
One interesting idea is to hang the picture frames with nothing in them! Can work great if you have a variety of interesting shabby chic structures that you can hang in a collage on your wall – it sounds silly but it makes a big statement, and it can be fun to collect the different frames.
I think ones that have different size and shaped structures are best. Of course, you can create your own by buying different sized frames and putting them together on the wall too.
