Decorating your home is a beautiful way to celebrate the holidays. Your front porch is usually the first thing that visitors will see of your home. Decorate it festively to capture the spirit of the season. Here are a few fun and inexpensive ways to decorate your front porch for Christmas.
Use poinsettias. These plants can purchase at almost any home and garden center or discount store during the holiday season. Dress them up by putting red foil around the pot and placing a large gold bow on them. Stack them on plant stands or tables. Place groupings of differently sized poinsettias for visual interest.
Tie festive bows on railings, porch swings, and gliders. Big red or gold bows add simple elegance to any decor. Group them for a fuller look. Wrap empty packages and display around the porch.
Place decorative lights in porch plants. I am using white lights in my ficus trees, and looks so elegant on my porch at night! Place a small Christmas tree on your porch and decorate it similarly to the more massive tree in your home. Make or buy red accessories for your porch furnitures such as throws, cushions, and pillows. After the Christmas season, store them for use next year.
