You can enjoy your porch all year long even if your weather has extremes of rain and snow. A porch enclosure protects you from the elements, and there are many different styles and materials to choose. Even if your home currently does not have a porch enclosure, a building contractor can make the addition. When we built our current house, we had an extra large slab poured for the back patio, because we knew the future we would make the addition of a porch enclosure. This way it made it more comfortable when the time came for remodeling, as we didn’t have to take down the backyard fencing for the concrete to pour.
Porch enclosures come in a variety of styles and shapes. We had a simple porch enclosure in a previous home. While it protected us from mosquitoes and did provide shade, the rainy season found us not having much time to enjoy the porch. Our current neighbors have put in the sliding windows in their porch, which has made it be almost a separate room. The benefits of these windows are that the porch enclosure can use more year round. Heaters can also install in a porch enclosure that has the windows, which would make it of great benefit to those who live in the colder climates where snow and colder weather can be a detriment to use of the porch. In addition to windows, there are a variety of awnings, including fully motorized ones, that enable more shade for the porch.
