Recently there has been an explosion in bathroom design where old has become new: the pedestal sink is one of the heavy hitting comeback kids. Pedestal sinks offer a level of versatility and elegance that cannot found in a traditional cabinet mounted sinks. I have to say the unique pedestal sink I 've seen is the Elite Fairytale Oak Pedestal; this sink looks like an oak tree. I was even shocked and amazed to see that there are entire bathrooms built around this particular sink. Pedestal sinks offer a multitude of design options for the bathroom.
First, without the expense of the cabinetry in addition to the sink, you are allowed to choose a more stylized tub for about the same total investment. There is a wide range of price options for the pedestal sinks starting in the low 200 U. S. dollar range and as expensive as several thousand U. S. dollars for the more artistically rendered sinks. In other words, these are sinks that should fit almost any design budget.
Second, without the bulk of a traditional cabinet sink, the pedestal sink offers a more open feel to a room, which allows smaller bathrooms to appear larger. The combined with proper lighting and lighter shades of paint can go a long way in maximizing the limited space of a small bathroom.
Third, the pedestal sink offers a significant amount of versatility. From the classically elegant pedestal sinks that flashback to the Victorian to the ultra-modern, artistic, and futuristic sinks available in today 's market there seems to be something for almost every taste. A beautiful pedestal sink can quickly become the aesthetic focal point of any bathroom, large or small.
Keep in mind that if you decide to use a pedestal sink, you may need to repair the flooring and patch the walls in your bathroom. Is not a big deal if you 're embarking on a major renovation in which the carpets and walls are going to be replaced or patched and painted. Also, remember that there may be a few plumbing needs especially if you are replacing a wall fixture with a pedestal sink, or the plumbing was old.
Whether you are planning a small, minor redecorating project or a major renovation of your bathroom, consider using a pedestal sink. If you need something that is space saving or merely elegant, it 's difficult to go wrong with this versatile sink.
