While most people enjoy hanging out on their porch only for a few minutes, there are those of us who like to sit out there for quite some time to soak up the fresh, clean air or take in some magnificent views. For those of us who want to bask in the outdoors from the comfort of our porch, a porch rocker is a must-have accessory. With the ability to provide a porch with both a classic look and the ability to provide the homeowner with a great, comfortable place to sit outside, the porch rocker is an accessory that can complement any porch – no matter where you live in America. Generally fashioned from one of the hundreds of varieties of wood, you can purchase a brand new porch rocker at most fine furniture stores, or you can find one at an antique furniture shop. Furthermore, you can take your porch rocker home and refinish it to any color or style you want to provide you have the permanent stains and tools to complete such a job.
If you find that you are not alone in your passion for sitting out on the porch in a porch rocker, there are plenty of alternatives to this great place to sit. One such option is the porch swing which will generally seat at least two fully grown adults. The swing can either be attached to the porch\'s awning or can be placed on the ground if you lack shelter or it cannot support enough weight. Alternatively, you can purchase a porch glider which is usually the size of a loveseat. This unique type of chair is like a cross between a porch rocker and a porch swing, as it creates the gliding motion of a swing but takes up only a small footprint of space, similar to a rocker.
