One of the favorite colors for kitchens according to my readers is blue! People seem to love it, and it’s no wonder since it does impart a calm feeling. I would put together a post with some blue kitchen ideas that might help you plan out your blue kitchen decorating scheme.
There are many different types of designs that you can integrate a blue kitchen. For example, this modern kitchen features blue kitchen cabinets which can be kind of a big commitment, I mean if you are going to go with these cabinets you better really like blue!
Blue kitchen ideas
Cabinets aren’t so easy to change so you might want to opt for more neutral cabinets and go with blue kitchen walls or have blue accents. The kitchen below is probably more to most peoples tastes, and it has white cabinets and blue countertops. If you went with something like this, then you could add blue accents and that way you could control the amount of blue in the room. The blue countertops are much less of a commitment than the blue cabinets, but they still allow you to have that blue “punch” in the room
However, what if you can’t afford to buy new cabinets or countertops?
There’s plenty of things you can do to go blue in the kitchen without having to spend a ton of money on a remodel. Here are some blue kitchen ideas that you can use to get a whole new look in the kitchen:
You can change the look of your kitchen quickly and inexpensively by adding in some blue kitchen towels. You’d be surprised at what a big difference a few splashes of color can make. You can hand the towels from your stove handle, from the fridge handle and lay one flat on the counter for putting dishes you have just washed on to dry. Choose a solid color or all coordinating towels to add some blue to your kitchen. Sheets can also be practical because you can use them for wiping up spills and drying dishes!
You can get canisters in any style from modern to country to antique and even some cute themes like the beach then or apothecary style canisters. Whatever your taste, there\'s a canister set to match. I think cartridges are the perfect decorative item and this is one of my favorite blue kitchen ideas because they are also practical because they held things and supposed to be on your counter so putting them there doesn’t make the kitchen look cluttered.
Depending on the types of cabinets you have one of my favorite kitchen decorating ideas is to replace your current knobs with blue cabinet knobs. Plus you don’t have to make the massive commitment of getting all blue kitchen cabinets because the knobs can be changed out at any time so if you get sick of your blue knobs, change them for something else! You need to buy the same style of knobs your cabinets currently have so that you can use the corresponding holes. Otherwise, you will be getting into a big project you might not want.
One of my final blue kitchen ideas can be good if you don’t mind doing something a little more permanent and that is to update your kitchen with a blue tile backsplash. Of course, you have to be committed to the blue color because you will have the backsplash in there for a long time!
