WHY NOT WEDNESDAY'S ~ What Makes A Great Geocache?

What makes a GREAT Geocache?
Or should I ask, what makes a Geocache GREAT?

A nice feature of the sport of geocaching is that it means something different to most everyone. Some folks love clever puzzle caches while others prefer the traditional regular cache with an ammo can. You can individualize the sport to suit your desire and be as crazy or as sedate as you choose to be. One thing is for certain, it's fun, keeps you active and what would you be doing otherwise?

So I ask you, what make a great geocache to you?

It's tough to read in the picture so I'll post my comment here.
To me a great geocache is one that is original, well maintained, has a great location and a personal touch from the cache owner in some special way.

I think BLOODHOUNDED summed it up nicely.

TO me a good cache has one of the following:
A unique, well maintained container
Something unique or interesting about the GZ (historical, funky, beautiful etc.)
Interesting scenery on the way to cache - good hike, nice views, waterfalls etc.

A great cache has all of the above.

For me, it really comes down to "is it blog-worthy"... can I tell an interesting story just from your cache? If so, its a good one. Does it make me want to head back to my keyboard and post about it immediately? If so, it is a great one.

Getting out in the COUNTRYSIDE, seeing this wonderful world and nature, what more could you ask.

Someone said, "I never met a geocache that I didn't like". I have! Not many but, some really suck bad! Take me on a nice walk, clever hide, inteseting location and a unique cache container is just the icing on the cake. The GREAT one's are few and far between but I have been to a few where I just say, wow! That's a great geocache! BH
