Geocacher Trading Cards

First there were geocoins, and then signature items, then pathtags and now a geocacher can stake their claim in the sport with a Personalized Geocacher Trading Card! Yes, I said trading cards, just like baseball cards or Pokémon. You can trade them, collect them or just leave them in a found cache as your calling card. No matter what you do with them, I think they are pretty neat!

Geocacher, Nishollow sent me his trading card and I have to tell you that they are professionally done, colorful and of great quality. I was so impressed that I reached out to Kyle to get more info on the cards. Then I contacted FTF magazine and they gave me a special offer for CacheCrazy.Com readers. Please keep in mind we do not sell anything or endorse any products or services at CacheCrazy.Com. This post is about Personalized Geocacher Trading Cards, period. The rest is up to you.

"Bloodhounded"
Thanks for the awesome heads up on Geocacher Trading cards Kyle. Tell me how you found out about them?

"NisHollow"
A few months ago, I was featured in FTF Magazine for one of my custom containers.  I was looking on the website in order to buy that issue of the magazine and I came across Personalized Geocacher Trading Cards.  I had never seen them in our area (Northeastern Pennsylvania) and I thought it would be neat to be part of the series of trading cards.

"Bloodhounded"
How do you get them and why?

"NisHollow"
Go to ftfgeocacher.com and fill out the order form.  Prices will vary depending on how many cards you order.  You'll be asked what your favorite cache is; your milestone cache; and your favorite quote.  All of this information will be printed on the back of the card.  There is also a space to provide optional information.  I chose to put my geocaching stats.  You will need to choose a picture to put on the front of the card.  These cards are very similar to baseball cards.  You can trade them with other cachers or place them in caches that you find.  It's a good way to let other cachers learn more about you and to put a face to the name.

"Bloodhounded"
Who has these Geocacher Trading Cards?

"NisHollow"
I'm not exactly sure who has these cards.  My card is #21 in series 2.  I contacted the guys from FTF Magazine -- series 1 had 23 cards total and they predicts that series 2 will run considerably longer.

Thanks for the info Kyle, I like your card the best so far! You're our crazy kind of cacher!

What I also found out was that some people sponsor a series of cards. For instance, Shane Holmes created a project to sponsor the "History Series" that highlights special milestones in the history of Geocaching. There are other special series as well such as The Legends Of Louisiana, Terminology A – Z and others!

I can see it now; A CacheCrazy.Com Authors series! Who’s in?

You can find out more by simply searching Google or check out the GeoTradingCardsFacebook page and if you think it’s really cool and you want one of your own the folks at FTF Magazine tossed out this special offer exclusively for CacheCrazy.Com readers. In the order form just mention CacheCrazy.Com in the special instructions field at the bottom of the form and receive a 100 – card upgrade on and order of 100 trading cards (200 cards total)! Thanks guys!

Have fun with the many aspects of our game and thanks for reading CacheCrazy.Com!

Kyle sent me one of his cards and it looks great! The only problem is that I tried to play it in a Pokemon game and I ended up losing because he didn't have any special powers :( (Well, super geocaching powers, but try playing THAT against electricity!)
