WHY NOT WEDNESDAY ~ DEAR PRUDENCE, I THINK I'M BREAKING UP WITH MY CO

Dear Prudence,

I think I’m breaking up with my CO (cache owner) and I need your advice, please, I’m desperate!

With Valentine’s Day being tomorrow, I just had to write you and get your advice because I don’t know where else to turn. You see, It all started out so nice. Three years ago this May as a matter of fact. He had a twinkle in his eye and a jump to his step when my CO started to put me together. He did it with care and concern. It was no wonder I fell for him like a puppy in love. Yes, they were the good old days.

I remember when my CO placed me. What a clever CO indeed. Oh sure, it’s been dark in here but I love when I hear geocachers trying to find me. My, oh my, do geocachers say a lot of curses! Anyway back to my point. He use to do everything with such care and emotion! So detailed and yet so simple, I miss him so badly. He’s left me here, out in the cold and all alone without a care in the world for me at all.

It didn’t use to be like this Prudance, oh no, he use to come regularly. He would bring me gifts (SWAG) and check my seal. One day (giggle) he even sharpened my pencil! I never had such a perfectly pointed pencil in my life! He was amazing! When he was done, my CO always put me back and tucked me in with tender loving care.

I will say, that I love the way he shares me with his friends! Oh Prudence, you silly thing, it’s not what you think. Why no geocacher could ever replace my CO! Yes, they also bring me gifts and write to me (aka, sign the log) but I can feel the difference. These folks are all great but no one could replace my CO, no one!

I haven’t seen him in over a year! I fear that he may have forgotten me and has left me here forever. Geocachers aren’t even really into me any more, not like they use to be. I know I’ve lost a lot of weight (no SWAG left), my pens are out of ink, my love letter book is soggy and my perfectly pointed pencil is caput, but I feel like I have a lot to offer. After all, look around here. It’s a beautiful place and it has so much potential! I wish my CO would come back to me!

So, I ask you Prudence, what should a geocache like me do? Should I just kick the old deadbeat CO out to the street and go look for an adoption? At least then I could continue to make new friends, right? Or should I just keep holding on and waiting? Maybe one of those geocachers will get me back in tip top shape like when I was new? That's pretty unlikely. I know for sure, if something doesn’t happen soon I may be faced with the “A” word (archived). I’m not ready to meet my reviewer yet.

Please help me Prudence, I don’t know where else to turn!

Your dearest friend,
A Cache Nearest You

I have a cache or two that I should probably visit soon. I feel a little guilty about neglecting them. So, what do you think our friend "A Cache Nearest You" should do?

Happy Valentine's Day
