"Excerpts from ErikaJean.com" My First Virtual Cache

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to my friend and blogger extraordinaire, Erika Jean from ErikaJean.com. She started her blog in July of 2006 and describes it as, "A self titled nonsense blog". I can tell you first hand that it's more like a "no nonsense blog" (well, maybe sometimes) because I've been reading for awhile now and it's filled with all kinds of great stuff. Not only is she a great author, photographer and a crafty one, Erika is a great person too. She was the one blogger who inspired me to dump the webpage and start blogging and, well, here we are today featuring her! Pretty cool, right?

Erika has offered and selected 5 geocaching "excerpts" from ErikaJean.com and we have the pleasure of sharing them with you! You are going to love them. They will be posted over the next few months so be sure to watch for them on weekends as the series "Excerpts from ErikaJean.com" unfolds here at CacheCrazy.Com.

So, without further ado, I bring you Erika Jean and her excellent post, My First Virtual Cache, ENJOY!

MY FIRST VIRTUAL CACHE

Cadillac Ranch
Virtual (cache)
A virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Virtual caches have no cache container; the reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit.
I've seen this place in pictures and have always wanted to go. I was excited to find there was also a geocache there. I got even more excited when I found out it was a virtual cache! It was quickly added onto my road trip to-do list!

There were a lot of people there snapping shots but as the wind kicked up and lighting became visible in the distance people started to scatter - which always makes picture taking a little easier. I'm not a fan of having random people in my shots!

To prove we actually visited the location, we had to find out which set of tires didn't spin... This is the cache - but I'm not going to tell you which one it is ;-)

Cadillac Ranch

The spray paint was caked on! I'm sad I didn't bring any :-(

Cadillac Ranch

Here is a shot of me in a Cadillac! I was pleased that this cache was my first virtual. Yey!

I just read about this cache someplace - maybe it was on your blog! LOL. Anyway, I bookmarked it on my "Out of State" bookmark list to do sometime in the future. This looks so cool!

I love Cadillac Ranch. There is also a VW Bug ranch near by, which I personally prefer. There is a cache at the VW ranch as well, if you need to look it up.

Thanks for the post!

What a waste of cars. Around here, it would've been a better idea to fix them up a bit and make a profit by selling them at the brisbane auto auctions.
