GeoWoodstock IX and the future of our sport, kids

I am so happy to see all of the activities for kids at GeoWoodstock IX. Kids are the future of our sport plain and simple. If they choose not to play it's "Game Over" guys and there's nothing we can do to stop it. That's why I always stress the importance of cache maintenance. Most likely some kids are going to find it and your geocache will set an impression in their minds. If the kids don't want to go geocaching then the parents can't go either because there is no one to watch the kids. Soon they find another form of recreation and that's another family lost to the demise of the game. To kids, geocaching is a treasure hunt. Let's not ever forget that. If you are like me, I'm making sure that I'm putting a little treasure in every cache I find that needs "a boost". For the kids, for the future. One cache at a time.

I know it's here somewhere!!!!!!

Not just face painting oh no, this was GeoFace Painting (Big Al was next in line)

Something about these inflatable "fun houses" that attract kids. They love them!

This is like a 5/5 climb to the top to sign the log (not as easy as it looks)

Challenging yet fun and daring all at once. This kind of thing builds confidence and is better than any video game. Kids learn through having fun, what a concept! We will never stop learning if.........

we never stop having fun! After all we are all still kids.

Hey Big Al,

I thought you would be interested in knowing that the boy in the red shirt (MonsterTruk) was one of the winners of Geomate, Jr. give away. He loves to go caching with me and now he has a GPSr of his own to keep him "on the hunt."

Thanks for the writeup,
SpongeBrain
